Senate Bill S238 has been temporarily postponed. Introduced in September of 2011 by Florida Senator Greg Evers (R) Senate Bill S 238: Florida Renewable Fuel Standard Act seeks to repeal SS. 526.201-526.207, F.S., the Florida Renewable Fuel Standard Act, to remove the requirement that all gasoline offered for sale in this state include a percentage of ethanol, subject to specified exemptions, waivers, suspensions, extensions, enforcement, and reporting; amending s. 206.43, F.S.; conforming a cross-reference; providing an effective date. This bill would repeal the ethanol in gasoline mandate, which is slated to increase to 15% in the future. This is one of the bills passed under the administration of Governor Charlie Crist, who had signed several “climate change” policy Executive Orders, which can be found on a previous article referenced below.
The findings contain several key words which are being used ad nauseum by the radical environmentalists and the progressives in our government at the local, state, national and global levels. Readers should tune in to how often they are hearing these words being used to influence your thinking and behavior.
“526.202 Legislative findings.—The Legislature finds it is vital to the public interest and to the state’s economy to establish a market and the necessary infrastructure for renewable fuels in this state by requiring that all gasoline offered for sale in this state include a percentage of agriculturally derived, denatured ethanol. The Legislature further finds that the use of renewable fuel reduces greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on imports of foreign oil, improves the health and quality of life for Floridians, and stimulates economic development and the creation of a sustainable industry that combines agricultural production with state-of-the-art technology.”
As information continues to be revealed on the fallacy and fraud of anthropogenic (man-made) global warming due to increased carbon dioxide emissions, it is time we begin to chip away and repeal the unnecessary legislation that truly harms economic development with onerous regulation and allows further entrenchment of the progressive agenda into our lives.
