How to solve a simple math problem in school today?

April 28, 2013

Education

Children are graded on the process, not on the answer.  They are not allowed to “stack” to solve problems, although it is easier, faster, and more likely to yield a correct answer.  Pay attention to what schools are teaching your children, and particular attention to how they are teaching your children.

  1. Brian Maday Says:

What they “TEACH IN SCHOOL” is a waste of time, and does not use high-level thought processes – it is a ‘visualization’ (which is valueless). I do not understand what the “School” process is supposed to teach. It may be the convoluted teaching method I have ever seen. I certainly hope this is not for “real”…. If it is, everyone will need a computer just to write out their checks to pay bills. ~S~T~U~P~I~D~
